Dr Neo Cortex, the original mad scientist with world domination schemes which lead to the creation of the Evolvo-ray and the on-going fight between good and evil. He wanted to rule to world, to show the world how great him and his ideas really are. After being shunned and laughed at all his life. His ego is about the same size as his oversized cranium.
Neo is intelligent but he is prone to making mistakes with his creations and is quick to throw a tantrum when things don't go his way!

In his early years, he was already showing signs of being a madman. Thus his evil mother Seral B. Cortex took him and sent him to the Academy of Evil where he could be taught how to become an evil scientist more efficiently, away from human civilization.
Neo was bullied and threatened with death almost on a daily basis while at the Academy, often crying and being sent to detention. But he had a few friends to stick by, such as Nitrus Brio & N.Gin. This is where Neo first got the idea for the Evolvo-ray, although his prototype proved to be a failure. Resulting in vaporizing animals instead of evolving them.

Years after graduating from the Academy of Evil, he set off to move even further from civilization, moving onto an uninhabited island several thousand miles off the coast of Australia. He was always fascinated with castles and old-skool technology, so his new home became the Cortex Castle, with the help of many lab assistants (created by himself & N.Gin) and thus, the world domination schemes begin... after Brio creates the perfected Evolvo-ray.
Many animals were evolved since 1992, but it wasnt until 1996 when Crash was created and caused Cortex no ends of trouble!

Cortex originally created Crash to be the general of his mutant army, but he didn't turn out the way he wanted and instead, Crash (with the aid of a spiritual mask and his sister Coco) thwarted Cortex's evil plans each and every-time. It wasn't until 2001 when Cortex noticed that his older bandicoot experiment Crunch, had the potential to lead his army...

Dr Cortex almost succeeded in controlling Crunch and causing extreme havoc on the world with the elemental masks, but fortunately, Crash & Aku aku were able to stop Crunch and snap him out of the mind control. Thus, Cortex had failed once again... barely escaping from the exploding Spacestation with Uka uka in an escape pod!

Unfortunately for him, the escape pod landed in Antartica instead of Cortex Caslte Island, and this is where he remained for the next 3 years...

Ah, Dr Cortex. What a long description! Well he has quite a backstory in my headcanon so ya XD I tried to shorten it! It's been so long. I dunno what my version of Cortex is based on, I just drew him from my head mostly. But I did use his Twinsanity gun to ref from
