Crunch is a burgundy bandicoot with an obsession for exercise, a passion for fighting and an eagerness for adventure. Bold in nature; a bit cocky and reckless at times but cares for his friends and family and those in need. And will gladly fight for what he believes in.
He was among the first animal experiments with the Evolvo-ray, and grew up to become one of the most powerful and successful of Cortex's minions. Unfortunately, his good heart was well against what Cortex had needed for being the 'Super Secret Weapon', and so Crunch was put under a mind-control to do his evil bidding. While under control, he became the hot-headed general of Cortex's mutant army - the role Crash was originally intended to be in. However, Crunch wasn't a very good leader and often wanted to do things his own way (even against Cortex's will). Crunch was also granted the power of the Elemental Masks to fight against Crash, Coco and Aku aku.
Thankfully, Crash and Aku aku were able to defeat Crunch, and free him from his mind control. For the first time in his life since evolution, he was free to live as he pleased. He stayed with Crash's family for a while, but soon he wanted to explore the islands to find a home for his own, to see old friends at the Cortex Castle and then... he would meet a certain brunette thylacine...
And then Crunch's life would greatly change from then on out!
About time I got a new reference sheet done for my interpretation of Crunch
it's a simple ref, but I wanted to do this so I would have a perfect ref for him to work with, finalize his details and proportions and well... yeah. Just wanted to do this for the fun of it ^^ Tani's ref is done also!

I remember when I was like 10 and browsed DA (yeah... I was too young for that!) and read and watched all your work! Your take on Crunch is very cool and Tani was also a model for me as a child (might have some gay crush on her too when I was a kid,,, woops) , strong women are fun characters. In early 2000s, it seemed new and kind of unique. We see a lot of strong women today in media and OCs but during the time I was a kid, it was mostly feminine girls we had in media. I love all the work you put on your series, it motivated me! My favourite characters were Midelene Swan and Tani!
